The second-largest island in the San Francisco Bay Area, Angel Island boasts panoramic and stunning views of the entire San Francisco skyline, Marin County Headlands, and Mount Tamalpais. Avid photographers will love the expansive views - Sonama and Napa seen from the island’s north and San Jose seen from the island’s south. Having been used for a plethora of purposes, the island is California Historical Landmark, having been a military fort, US Public Health Service Quarantine Station and a US Bureau of Immigration inspection and detention facility - this Immigration Station has even been classified as a National Historic Landmark.
