Beijing Zoo (北京动物园)

A complete panda-monium.

Home to many rare animals endemic to China, the Beijing Zoo has around 600 species of animals, including the South China Tiger; the Thorold's Deer, also known as the White-Lipped Deer; and of course, Beijing Zoo's very own VIPs (the Very Important Pandas), Giant Pandas! Animals native to China aside, there were also animals from America such as the Arctic Fox and Raccon Dogs among others. Built in the early 1900s, this was the earliest zoo open to the public and the first to witness the birth of a panda in captivity, and later, achieving success in the world's first artificial insemination breeding, a truly momentuous milestone as it is. Hurry along and start planning your trip to Beijing Zoo now!
