Ban Gioc Falls

One of Vietnam’s most impressive natural sights!

The Ban Gioc waterfalls is one of Vietnam’s most spectacular sights. It is situated in the northeastern province of Cao Bang and the falls tower at 30 m high and spread 300 m across the river, making it the widest waterfall in the entire country! The falls are found along the Quay Son River, which is a beautiful jade-blue body of water that flows south from China through a stunning paddy field landscape surrounded by tall limestone karsts. Standing at the base of the waterfall is akin to surrounding yourself with fluffy white clouds as the cool mist from the dense water vapour envelopes you fully. Despite improved road access and transport facilities though the years, Ban Gioc is still a rather off-the-beaten-path site thus you will certainly enjoy the peace and serenity upon visiting. Mass tourism has yet to populate this spot and outside of weekends and public holidays, there is seldom more than a trickle of visitors here. What an advantage it is to not have to share this beauty with anyone but yourself!
