Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park

Calling all adventurers to this stunning alpine National Park.

An incredible alpine setting, right in the heart of New Zealand, Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is for every thrill-seeker, adventurer, and free-spirit. An escape into a world of gargantuan mountains and meandering glaciers, this permanently white wonderland is the ideal location for any alpine activity.

Situated far from city lights, this national park is New Zealand’s only International Dark Sky Reserve – making it perfect for stargazing! Millions upon millions of stars illuminate the darkness of night. Totalling 23 peaks over 3000 metres high (including, as the attraction’s name suggests, Mount Cook, which so happens to be the tallest mountain in New Zealand), the national park is amazing for mountaineers who want to climb, and even for lesser-skilled adventurers looking for a good hike with unbeatable alpine views.

The Tasman glacier is also an unmissable spectacle - stretching for 27 kilometers, it is surrounded by out-of-this-world milky lakes, and provides a place for ski planes and helicopters to land. One day in the park is simply not enough, and the Aoraki Village provides lodging options ranging from backpacker hostels to luxury hotels. So step into Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, let nature steal your heart and escape reality in the perfect alpine wonderland.
