ANZAC War Memorial

The center of attraction every Anzac Day.

The Anzac War Memorial was built to honor the Australian Imperial Force of World War I. As such, it continues to be the key location for many commemorative ceremonies on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day. This monument was designed by C. Bruce Dellit, while the reliefs and sculptures on the exterior were created by Rayner Hoff.

For history buffs who are interested in finding out more about Australia’s military history, head to the base of the monument to check out the mini exhibition, or just simply sign up for a guided tour. As you venture around the area, bear in mind the somber effects of war and remember those who have fought and given up their lives to protect their very own homeland.

Tips Before You Go
Rather than celebrate war, the memorial\'s purpose is to honor those who have lost their lives. As such, it is a place for quiet contemplation. Please remember to keep your volume down when visiting. The memorial also closes rather early in the evening, so try to come earlier in the morning.
