Akihabara (Electric Town) (秋葉原)

Lights, camera, and action, but not of the movie kind.

When you step into the Akihabara district in Tokyo, you can almost feel the buzz of electricity seep into your veins. Also known as the Electric Town, Akihabara is home to a great number of stores selling electronics at low prices. The famous Yodobashi Camera store, one of the largest electronic stores in the world, is also here to make you feel like you are in a sci-fi film. Akihabara has of late also become a hub for otaku customers, which basically means people who buy into anime culture. It is recommended to come after dark, not only to experience the bright lights more potently, but also because bar hostesses get decked up in cosplay to promote their specials. For a bombardment of the senses, Akihabara is the place to be.
