Atlas Film Studio

You are about to be pulled into a magical ancient world. Get your cameras ready!

The Atlas Film Studio was founded in 1983 by Moroccan entrepreneur Mohamed Belghmi. Few would have guessed that this is in fact the largest film studio in the entire world, with so many famous movies being shot right here. In The Mummy, the cast and crew were running around in “pyramids” trying to escape Imhotep. But in actuality, all the thrills and adventures took place right here. If you’ve watched Alexander the Great, then you must definitely remember the intense battle scenes in the movie. All this was filmed right here, even if it did seem like it was filmed on location. The best part is that the studio is run by individuals who believe in educating the public about movie magic. That means that curious visitors can just come in and observe the filming process, although you probably won’t be able to take any photos of the cast acting out their scenes! The first thing that you’ll notice when you step foot would probably have to be the prop jet plane, which is in fact true to life. Other than the fact that it can’t fly, it looks every bit just like the real deal. But wait, there’s more! An Egyptian tomb is another strange thing you will immediately notice. But what’s even more eye-opening would have to be the 12-feet statues standing guard at the entrance and exit. Just by seeing this, you should probably already be able to tell that this visit is going to be extremely exciting. If possible, don’t forget to get a guide, because they’ll be able to tell you exactly where certain scenes were filmed. Even Game of Thrones was filmed here, with actress Emilia Clarke acting out her part as Daenerys Targaryen somewhere around these parts. Who knows, if you’re lucky, you might just be able to step foot in the same place the Khaleesi did!
