Lefkada, Greece
Agiofili Beach

Great things take time and great places are hard to come by, but they’re worth the wait and effort.

The Greek island of Lefkada has arguably some of the best beaches in the country, and Agiofili Beach is one of them. Even though making your way to this beach can at times be a Herculean task because of potholes on the road and the irregularity of water taxis, it will be worth the visit. The waters are some of the clearest that you can find in the island, which is why so many divers love coming here. The underwater landscape at Agiofili Beach is also vibrant. For those who just want to unwind and enjoy some isolation, this is the ideal place as the shoreline is small and can’t accommodate huge crowds. Whether you want aerial views of the beach from the nearby cliff, or prefer to immerse in the waters by going snorkeling, the Agiofili Beach is bound to satisfy you.

Tips Before You Go
The journey to this secluded paradise can be off-putting for some people; driving can be difficult after it rains and it is said that water taxis don’t operate when the waves get too choppy. When this happens, the only option left is to walk back to the town, which takes about 45 minutes. The peak season is in August.
